Underground Utility Locating Services

The City of Fort Lauderdale is soliciting bids from qualified contractors to provide comprehensive underground utility locating services for its Public Works Department. The scope of work encompasses various locations throughout the city and includes 811 assistance specifically for city-owned water, sewer, and stormwater infrastructure, as well as utility designation and point excavation, commonly known as potholing, for buried utilities regardless of ownership. Potholing services must be performed across various surfaces, including turf, asphalt, and concrete, with requirements for the use of electronic devices such as Ground Penetrating Radar, detailed marking, reporting, and surface restoration in accordance with municipal permits. Interested bidders must submit firm fixed pricing via the city's online strategic sourcing platform by the deadline of October 22, 2024. Submissions must include several mandatory documents, such as a Construction Bid Certification, Contractor Questionnaire, Reference list, Non-Collusion Statement, and an Anti-Human Trafficking Affidavit. All bid pricing must remain valid for 120 days and include all associated costs, including travel. Payments will be processed under the Florida Local Government Prompt Payment Act, and the city emphasizes that contractors are responsible for fully understanding the work scope and electronic submission process.
