AI Contract Overview
This contract is for the procurement of 174 units of 1-1/2 inch nominal pipe unions featuring socket weld ends, manufactured from 70-30 CUNI alloy per MIL-C-15726. Each unit must be furnished with a retaining ring and O-rings meeting MIL-R-83248 and MIL-R-83248/1 Class 1 rubber specifications. The delivery is required within 87 days from the order date, with shipping terms set as FOB Origin and inspection and acceptance occurring at the destination. The agreement mandates strict adherence to DLA packaging requirements and prohibits the use of Class I ozone-depleting chemicals and the intentional addition of mercury, except where functionally required by NAVSEA specifications. Technical and quality requirements are governed by the DLA Master List, and specific packaging must comply with MIL-STD-2073-1E and MIL-STD-129. Because the manufacturing of these items may require specialized casting or forging tooling, the government provides a specific request process for sourcing and technical assistance.
