United States Air Force Weather Capabilities Roadmap

The United States Air Force Weather Systems Program Office under the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center will be presenting a comprehensive roadmap of USAF weather capabilities and programs at the 2019 American Meteorological Society Annual Meeting in Phoenix, AZ. This event is designed to engage industry, academia, and government research entities by sharing insights into upcoming research and procurement opportunities related to advanced weather systems. Key areas of focus include meteorological in-situ and remote sensing technologies, modeling and high-performance computing, large-scale data processing and dissemination, as well as applications tailored for forecasters. Scheduled for January 9, 2019, the presentation aims to foster market awareness and collaboration by outlining the Air Force’s strategic vision for enhancing weather-related capabilities. The program office responsible is located at Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma, with points of contact including Maj Andrew Travis and Mr. John Dreher, who hold leadership roles in meteorology and weather program management. This outreach supports the Department of Defense’s ongoing efforts to advance meteorological science and operational readiness through cutting-edge technology and partnership opportunities.
