University of Calgary - Advanced Contract Award Notice / Notice of Proposed Procurement - Customized Full-Size Robotic System

The University of Calgary, intends to procure a customized full-size humanoid robotic research platform to support advanced research and training in embodied artificial intelligence, agentic autonomy, whole-body locomotion and manipulation, autonomous decision-making, perception in hazardous and confined environments, and integration with existing robotic systems and infrastructure. The platform will be used to conduct research into autonomous robotic systems capable of perceiving, reasoning, planning, and executing complex physical tasks within dynamic and hazardous environments, including urban search and rescue scenarios. The acquisition is intended to extend existing University research capabilities by providing a hardware and software customizable robotic platform that supports advanced software development, simulation, and integration with specialized laboratory equipment and previously developed research assets. The University seeks a solution that enables direct research access to robot perception, cognition, planning, control, and whole-body motion systems through a supported development environment, while maintaining compatibility with existing laboratory software, hardware, simulation tools, and research workflows. The University believes that LimX Dynamics Technology Co., Ltd. is the only supplier currently identified as capable of meeting the complete combination of mandatory requirements outlined below. Suppliers who believe they can provide an equivalent solution meeting all mandatory requirements are invited to submit a statement of capabilities demonstrating compliance with each requirement.
