US-CA-7286, North Lakeport; Major Use Permit & Initial Study (PL-25-394)

Assurance Development, T-Mobile is proposing the construction of a 150-foot monopine cell tower designed to resemble a pine tree under Major Use Permit PL-25-394 in Lakeport, California. The project includes a 10-foot lightning rod, up to 18 anchor antennas, a microwave antenna, and two ground-mounted radio cabinets, with provisions for additional cabinets to support future co-location. The facility will be powered via PG&E through a step-down transformer and will include a backup diesel generator. The entire installation will be situated within a 40-foot by 40-foot lease area enclosed by a 6-foot tall chain link fence. The Lake County Planning Commission approved the project on June 11, 2026, following a CEQA review that resulted in a Negative Declaration, indicating no significant environmental effects and no requirement for an Environmental Impact Report. Administrative fees totaling 3,093.75 were paid to the Lake County Auditor-Controller for the processing of the Mitigated Negative Declaration and documentary handling. The project is managed by the Lake County Planning Division, with Max Stockton serving as the Associate Planner and Samantha Herrmann acting as the consultant.
