US Route 460/258 Turn Lane Improvements Project

Isle of Wight County is soliciting sealed bids for the US Route 460/258 Turn Lane Improvements Project (UPC# 115528), a federally funded initiative to install northbound and southbound left turn lanes on Route 258 at the Route 460/258 intersection. The scope of work includes pavement widening, curb and gutter installation, traffic signal improvements, and associated roadway work. The project requires strict adherence to VDOT 2020 Road and Bridge Specifications and the 2022 supplement, as well as compliance with federal Buy America/Building America permits. Due to the proximity of railroad right-of-way, the contractor must coordinate closely with Norfolk Southern Railroad, following specific protection requirements and providing seven days' notice before any excavation or pile driving.
