The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) announced a long-term purchase program to acquire turkey and turkey products intended for school lunch and other domestic nutrition assistance programs. This initiative invites offers for specific turkey products, including frozen turkey breast deli cuts, smoked turkey breast deli cuts, consumer-pack whole turkeys, and smoked turkey hams, with deliveries scheduled between July 1 and December 31, 2014. The purchase process will be governed by the AMS Master Solicitation for Commodity Procurements issued in April 2014, and all bids must be submitted electronically through the Web-Based Supply Chain Management (WBSCM) system; submissions via other methods will not be accepted. Offerors are required to carefully review all relevant procurement documents, including various commodity specifications and vendor qualification requirements, to ensure compliance. Additional guidance and inquiries can be directed to AMS contracting officers, with contact information provided in the announcement. The program underscores USDA's commitment to non-discrimination and equal opportunity, providing accommodations for persons with disabilities to access program information. This procurement supports USDA’s broader efforts to supply high-quality turkey products to federally assisted nutrition programs through a structured, transparent sourcing process.
