This is a pre-solicitation notice for two (2) each OEM direct replacement rudderstock major overhaul kits in support of the USS BONHOMME RICHARD, prepared in accordance with FAR Part 13 using simplified acquisition procedures. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested, please see attached written solicitation. Southwest Regional Maintenance Center Procurement Code 410, San Diego, CA intends to compete the rudderstock major overhaul kits as a Brand Name Sole Source procurement to the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Wartsila Defense, Inc. and its authorized distributor Pioneer Industries, Inc. This contract action is for direct replacement parts for which the Government has solicited and negotiated with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302; only one responsible source and no other supplies or services satisfy the requirement. This notice of intent to award is not a request for competitive price quotes, and is designated for only the OEM and the authorized distributor. A determination by the Government not to request Full and Open quotes was made and responses to this notice are solely within the discretion of the Government. This solicitation document incorporates provisions and clauses that are those in effect through the Federal Acquisition Circular, FAC 2005-97, dated 02/22/2018. The NAICS Code for this acquisition is 336611 and the small business size standard is 1,250 employees.
