Amendment A0001 RFQ 2031ZA26Q00098 - Environmental ChamberThe Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP), part of the Department of the Treasury, is seeking to acquire a new environmental chamber to support its banknote currency manufacturing operations based in Washington, DC, and Fort Worth, TX. This equipment is essential for maintaining precise temperature and humidity conditions necessary for conditioning paper materials prior to sample testing, thereby enhancing laboratory efficiency. The primary customer for BEP’s currency production is the Federal Reserve Board, and the chamber must adhere strictly to the technical specifications outlined in the Statement of Work, with only new equipment being acceptable. The solicitation, identified as 2031ZA26Q00098, was posted on June 2, 2026, with a response deadline of June 18, 2026. It is a combined type contract set aside entirely for small businesses under the SBA (FAR 19.5) and falls under the NAICS code 334516. The contract is managed by the Office of the Chief Procurement Officer within the Department of the Treasury, with performance expected in Washington, DC. The point of contact for this acquisition is Naweed Nezam. This procurement is aimed at supporting BEP’s core mission of designing, engraving, and printing U.S. banknote currency and security products by ensuring proper environmental controls for testing materials used in production.

NOI - Infors HT Multitron Incubation ShakerThe National Institutes of Health (NIH), Office of the Director, Office of Acquisitions, has issued a combined synopsis/solicitation under the number 75N98026Q00639 for the procurement of an Infors HT Multitron Incubation Shaker, including integrated CO2 control, hygienic humidification, accessories, and installation. This purchase intends to extend a 15-year-old existing Multitron system used in the Laboratory of Structural Cell Biology at NHLBI. The solicitation is conducted as a non-competitive, sole-source action with Infors USA, the exclusive U.S. manufacturer and seller of this patented system, to ensure compatibility and integration with the existing equipment. The acquisition falls under the streamlined procedures outlined in FAR Subpart 12.6 and is not expected to exceed the simplified acquisition threshold. The solicitation is governed by Federal Acquisition Circular 2026-01, effective March 13, 2026, with the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code 334516 for Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing, and it is not set aside for small businesses. Proposals are requested promptly, with a response deadline of June 23, 2026. This action is authorized under FAR 12.603 and 41 U.S.C. 1901, reflecting the necessity of a direct award due to the unique integration requirements and the lack of comparable commercial items. The point of contact for this solicitation is Nicholas S. Capobianco at the NIH.

AI Contract Overview

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is seeking information for the procurement of vacuum-compatible stages essential for the NG6-U and NG6-A neutron beamlines at its Radiation Physics Division. These beamlines require remote manipulation of a monochromator crystal within a vacuum environment due to the installation of an advanced supermirror guide, making the current stages obsolete. The acquisition encompasses two identical motor-driven rotation stages with a pressure rating of 1x10^-6 Torr or lower, constructed from aluminum alloy or similarly neutron-activating materials, offering precise step resolution and significant range of motion. Additionally, two identical motor-driven tilt stages are required, also vacuum compatible, with specific dimensional and motion parameters to integrate with the rotation stages. The package further includes vacuum-compatible and non-vacuum cables suitable for system integration. Following comprehensive market research spanning multiple years, only AIM Concepts appears capable of fulfilling these technical requirements, leading NIST to pursue a sole source award under FAR 12.102(a). Interested parties are invited to respond with relevant company information, capabilities, and any concerns about the specifications, though proprietary data should be excluded. The responses will aid NIST in determining the best procurement approach, but this notice does not constitute a solicitation, commitment, or guarantee of any contract award. Questions may be submitted by specified deadlines, and the government emphasizes no costs arising from responses will be reimbursed.

***THIS IS A COMBINED SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE AND NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE***

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is seeking information from sources that may be capable of providing a high speed, Lock-in/Servo system. If no alternate sources are identified, the Government intends to issue a Sole Source Award to AIM Concepts, 5489 S Iris St Littleton, CO 80123 under the authority of FAR 12.102(a) The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 334516.

NIST has a need for a Vacuum Compatible stages that meets or exceeds the following draft minimum specifications:

  1. BACKGROUND INFORMATION

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Radiation Physics Division of the Physical Measurement Laboratory requires new vacuum-compatible stages for the pending guide installation at the NG6-U and NG6-A neutron beamlines. This acquisition is critical because the new, advanced supermirror guide mandates a vacuum environment. Neutron beamlines require remote manipulation of a monochromator crystal.  At a minimum the crystal must be rotated and tilted along one axis.  The existing stages supporting NG6 monochromators are not vacuum-compatible, which necessitates their replacement. The NG6-U beamline is a dedicated metrology station for measuring small forces and fundamental physical constants while the NG6-A beamline will be used to develop and test new detector technologies and determine the accuracy of the detector prototypes which may assist in the detection of water in our solar system.

NIST conducted market research from 2020 to 2023 by attending conferences, speaking with colleagues, performing internet searches, and speaking with vendors to determine what sources could meet NIST’s minimum requirements.  The results of that market research revealed that only AIM Concepts (UEI: KK6LBMT3FPD7) appears to be capable of meeting NIST’s requirements.
