VEGETATION ESTABLISHMENT

The Corporation of the Town of Georgina is soliciting bids for contract OID2026-066 to provide municipal vegetative establishment and stabilization services for drainage systems, including roadside ditches, swales, and boulevards. The scope of work encompasses site preparation, the application of growing media and soil amendments, vegetative establishment, erosion control, and necessary maintenance to ensure drainage functionality. Work is performed on an as-required basis, with a budget value of 250,000 dollars exclusive of refundable taxes. The project is scheduled to commence on October 23, 2026, and requires adherence to Ontario Provincial Standard Specifications and the Town's Supplier Code of Conduct. Successful completion is defined by achieving a minimum of 80 percent live vegetative cover, the absence of active erosion or surface instability, and the maintenance of positive drainage. Final acceptance is performance-based and may not occur until the first growing season following installation. Bidders must submit electronic proposals by October 8, 2026, and must commit to supplying at least 75 percent Ontario or Canadian-made goods and services. The Town will evaluate submissions on a pass/fail basis for mandatory requirements and reserves the right to select the bid providing the best value advantage rather than the lowest price. Payment terms are net thirty days from the receipt of a detailed invoice.
