Full Description

GEC is seeking lump sum, not to exceed, bids for right of way floor maintenance and trimming. The primary focus of the trimming activities will be from the ground up to the level of the neutral conductor. This is intended to be trimming/clearing activities that will support the efficient installation of fiber communications facilities from the right of way under and along the line route.
The required trimming specifications shall mirror, in part, those found in RUS Bulletin 1728F-803, section M. Here are the specifications for this bid:
The right-of-way shall be prepared by removing trees, clearing underbrush, and trimming trees so that the right-of-way is cleared close to the ground and to the width specified-preferred, 15 (minimum 10) feet each side of the pole. However, low growing grasses and shrubs, which will not interfere with the operation or maintenance of the line, may be left undisturbed if so directed by the Cooperative. Shade, fruit, or ornamental trees shall be trimmed and not removed, unless directed otherwise by the Cooperative. Slash may be chipped and blown on the right-of-way unless directed otherwise by the Cooperative. The right of way (post clearing) shall be clear of vegetation and debris such that vehicle and UTV traffic is attainable.
Work will commence as soon as practical after contract has been awarded.
All work shall be completed no later than August 15, 2024. The requested work may be completed prior to this date. Any exception to this timeframe shall be formally approved by GEC prior to work actually commencing in the field.
