Scope: The City is soliciting proposal packets from professional companies experienced and qualified to perform towing and impound services for the City of La Mesa Police Department. Interested and qualified companies who have demonstrated their ability at providing comparable services are invited to submit statements of qualification.
This request is for awarding up to five (5) tow companies a franchise towing contract to cover a one (1) year period of vehicle towing and impound services with options to renew for up to four additional one (1) year periods under the same terms and conditions. Fewer than five (5) tow companies may be selected if that is determined to be in the best interests of the City.
Qualified companies are invited to submit an online proposal to the City no later than 5:00 p.m. on August 31, 2026.
Notes: Questions related to this RFQ must be submitted through the PlanetBids system and will only be accepted through 1:00 p.m. on Monday, August 17, 2026.
Please submit proposals online in the form of scanned documents through PlanetBids. Only submissions made through the online system will be accepted.
All proposals are due no later than 5:00 p.m. on Monday, August 31, 2026. Proposals received after the deadline will not be considered.
To submit you must be registered in the City of La Mesa's online vendor database at cityoflamesa.gov/bids and download the RFQ Packet.
City of La Mesa normal hours are 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Fridays. City offices are closed alternate Fridays and holidays including July 31, and August 14 and 28, 2026.
