The U.S. Army Contracting Command - Aberdeen Proving Ground (ACC-APG), Aberdeen Proving Ground, Natick Contracting Division in support of the U.S Army Soldier System Center, Combat Feeding Directorate intends to award a firm fixed price contract on a sole source basis to Eurofins Food Chemistry Testing US, Inc. under the authority as prescribed in FAR 13.106-1(b)(1). The requirement is for analysis of vitamins A, B1, B9, C, and E in long-term-stored Creamy Cajun Chicken, produced under contract from NASA, after 3, 4, and 5 years storage, with 6 replicates of each vitamin analysis. The award is intended for a follow-on contract to further analysis of the same production lot, in order to track vitamin degradation for the full five years that are expectedly needed for Mars missions. Specimen vitamin levels for years 3, 4 and 5 MUST be analyzed in precisely the same manner as the previous pulls in order to ensure consistency and comparability of data, since all vitamin loss results for the full five years will be incorporated into the same degradation-over-time kinetic model. Use of different facilities/techniques would disrupt the study by inserting a large degree of error into the time-course analysis. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 541380 and the size standard is $15,000,000. Base Notice: THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS. No solicitation document is available. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability by sending responses regarding this requirement to the Army Contracting Command - Aberdeen Proving Ground CCAP-SCN, Natick Contracting Division via e-mail ONLY to kimberly.b.pumyea.civ@mail.mil with no later than 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time, March 28, 2019. The U.S. government will not pay for any information or administrative cost incurred in response to this Notice. All costs associated with responding to this Notice will be solely at the expense of the contractor.
