The City of Papillion is issuing a solicitation to select qualified design-builders for the Walnut Creek Shop Addition project, a critical infrastructure enhancement aimed at constructing a new heated storage building on city-owned property. The project involves building a durable, long-lasting structure measuring approximately 120 feet by 50 feet, designed to accommodate all mowers, vehicles, and essential equipment indoors to protect them from weather elements, thereby extending their operational lifespan and improving safety. The building will be constructed from a concrete foundation with a focus on maximizing heated storage space, and it will include provisions for future upgrades such as a bathroom rough-in and comprehensive electrical systems, although water service will not be initially provided. The project is valued between one and five million dollars and is intended to support the city’s growth and operational needs over the next 50 to 100 years. The RFQ process requires interested design-builders to submit Letters of Interest and Qualifications by October 24, 2025, demonstrating their financial capacity, relevant experience, personnel qualifications, and compliance with applicable laws. We are looking for a strong, durable structure that will last 50 to 100 years or more, ensuring it remains a valuable asset for decades to come.
