Pratts Dam Road Bank Stabilization Project
Solicitation # 235576
The Pratts Dam Road Bank Stabilization Project is a stipulated price construction contract issued by West Brandywine Township in Chester County, Pennsylvania. The project aims to restore approximately 1,600 feet of roadway adjacent to the West Branch of Brandywine Creek, which is currently failing due to its position on an inclined rock surface. The scope of work includes replacing an existing retaining wall and constructing a new second retaining wall using soldier pile designs, as well as implementing rock protection, drainage system replacement, full depth pavement, and safety feature upgrades. The project will be executed under a full detour and must adhere to the latest PennDOT standards, AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications, and FHWA guidelines. The work is expected to be substantially completed within 26 months of the contract commencement. The contract will be awarded to the apparent low bidder who demonstrates the necessary technical qualifications, financial standing, and business integrity. A critical requirement for the award is the demonstration of good faith efforts to include Diverse Business subcontractors. Bidders must submit a bid guaranty of at least 10% of the total bid amount, and the successful contractor will be required to provide 100% performance and payment bonds. Compliance with the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act and OSHA General Industry Safety and Health Standards is mandatory.
