NA We plan to award a contract to United Defense Limited Partnership (UDLP) for 22 Modification Kit MLRSA1 500HP to 600HP, Part Number 57K1612. The modification kits are a supplement to the 600hp Centry engine that is planned for incorporation into the MLR S A1 Carrier. The kit will contain the necessary components for the conversion to accompany the engine. The MLRS Carrier will be converted from a basic 500hp Carrier to an A1 configured 600hp Carrier. The upgrade is necessary to improve performance of t he A1 MLRS Carrier. The total vehicle quantity planned for this program is 400 Carriers covering LRIP V, retrofit of existing A1 vehicles which already contain some changes but do not have a 600hp engine, Full Scale Production 1-5 and spares. Also an op tion to buy up to 400 kits for various quantities. NOTE: 22 The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requ irement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within 15 days (thirty days if award is issued under and existing basic ordering agreement) after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be consi dered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
