Apply herbicide within existing right-of-way of interstate and primary roads, as defined by Iowa DOT including all interchanges and ramps on multi-lane roadways, along both directions of travel in all ROW except where specifically specified. (Not to include any medians on multi lane routes.) Identify and control all Iowa noxious and invasive weeds by spot spraying herbicide. See scope of work and specifications under Attachment for all details and timeframes. All bidding is by milepost as listed on the lines; maps are provided as information only. Responders shall furnish any requested information within three (3) working days after notification from the purchasing agent.
Pre-Bid substitution Form: DOT is allowing for pre-bid substitutions. Responders must submit the Pre-Bid Substitution Request for Approval of Material or Product Form, including alternate brand specifications for purposes of comparison to approved brands based on the same or higher level of performance. The form can be found in the attachment tab and instruction are located in the activity tab as well as on the form. All submissions must be received on or before the date and time listed on the form to be considered for evaluation.
Contract Award: Award will be made for any one group or combination of groups. All items within a group must be bid to be considered for a group award. It is the intent of the Iowa DOT to award the contract to the responsible bidder whose submitted quotation is the most advantageous to the Iowa DOT, cost and other factors considered. Other factors include, but are not limited to: meeting or exceeding mandatory requirements, proposed staffing, and meeting required time schedule within the changing weather conditions. Previous performance will be a factor in determining the amount of lane miles awarded to any contractor. Contract Dates: Contract Start Date: March 1, 2025 Contract End Date: November 30, 2025 Contract Renewals The Contractor will be awarded a one (1) year contract with an option to renew for five (5) additional years in twelve (12) month increments. Renewals are not guaranteed and are a mutual agreement between both parties, the Iowa DOT and the Contracted vendor.
