The contract involves the procurement of 6,398 solid rubber wheels with the NSN 2530-01-201-4816 and part number 12324548, intended for use as track and road wheels. The solicitation indicates that this is a source-sought notice rather than an open solicitation, emphasizing that the purpose is to identify qualified sources capable of producing the item. Since technical data is unavailable, prospective suppliers must undergo qualification testing and evaluation to become an approved source, which would allow them to compete for future contracts but does not guarantee business. The source approval process is managed through the Army’s Source Approval Program, with detailed information available online. The contract is managed by the Defense Logistics Agency’s Land Warren office in Warren, Michigan, with a response deadline of July 23, 2025. Interested parties can contact Derek T. Rutkowski via email or phone for further details. This procurement is associated with the NAICS code 336992, which covers other transportation equipment manufacturing, and is part of the DLA’s efforts to identify capable sources for this specialized component. Additional information and documentation related to the solicitation can be accessed through the provided SAM.gov link.
