Wildlife Improvements

The purpose of this project is to improve wildlife connectivity by providing a safe passage for wildlife by through the construction of wildlife-vehicle collision reduction devices in Santa Clara County along US 101. These devices are intended to reduce wildlife access to the roadway and decrease maintenance exposure to roadway cleanup. Due to the size and weight of animals accessing the roadway, wildlife-vehicle collisions can result in property damage, personal injury, and wildlife mortality. The proposed devices would direct wildlife away from the roadway traffic and toward safer locations. The project is needed to prevent wildlife-vehicle collisions and reduce maintenance exposure along US 101.
