The Department of the Interior’s Bureau of Indian Affairs, Alaska Region Office, plans to award a sole source contract to GCI Communication Corp for wireless telephone services to support employees working in rural and remote areas of Alaska. After a market search, GCI was identified as the only telecommunications provider capable of servicing these regions. The contract will be in effect from October 1, 2018, to September 30, 2019, under the NAICS code 517312, which relates to telecommunications services, with a business size standard of 1,500 employees. The sole source rationale is based on the Federal Acquisition Regulation provision 6.302-1, indicating that no other suppliers can meet the agency’s requirements. This notice serves as an informational announcement rather than a solicitation or invitation for competitive proposals. Interested parties are informed that no solicitation documents are available and that questions will only be accepted via email to the designated contract specialist, Jodi R. Zachary.
