Worthdale Park Stream Restoration and Stormwater Enhancement Project

The Worthdale Park Stream Restoration and Stormwater Enhancement Project involves comprehensive ecological and infrastructural improvements within the park in Raleigh, North Carolina. The project includes approximately 1,860 linear feet of stream restoration aimed at improving water flow and habitat quality, along with about 254 linear feet of stream enhancement to further support ecological health. Additionally, the project encompasses the construction of floodplain wetland zones to enhance stormwater management and ecological diversity. Infrastructure improvements include building a 152-foot concrete trail, a 130-foot boardwalk, and a pedestrian bridge to facilitate public access and recreation. The project also involves planting 2.59 acres of riparian buffer zones and half an acre of wetlands to promote native vegetation and improve water quality. To ensure accuracy and proper documentation, an as-built survey of the streams and wetlands will be procured upon completion. The project is valued between 1.5 and 3 million dollars and is managed by the City of Raleigh, with a response deadline of September 11, 2024.
