The Bureau of the Public Debt, Administrative Resource Center, acting on behalf of the Access Board, plans to issue a purchase order to the Marriott at Metro Center to host its bi-annual board meeting and provide guest room services from September 12 to September 15, 2005. The Access Board, a federal agency responsible for setting accessibility standards under the Americans with Disabilities Act, requires that all facilities used for its activities meet or exceed its strict accessibility guidelines. After evaluating several hotels in the Washington, DC area, the Board determined that the Marriott at Metro Center is uniquely qualified to meet these needs, offering appropriately sized meeting rooms and sufficient accessible guest rooms—specifically those with roll-in showers and accommodations for hearing impairments and guide dog services. The hotel’s full compliance with the Board's standards and its central location make it suitable for the 15 attendees scheduled to participate in the event. The contract process includes a window for other potential providers to submit affirmative responses by September 1, 2005, referencing the solicitation number and demonstrating the capability to offer equivalent services on more favorable terms. Responses lacking sufficient documentation or merely requesting additional information will not be considered. Should no superior proposals be received, the purchase order will be awarded to the Marriott at Metro Center, located at 775 12th Street NW, Washington, DC. This ensures that the Board’s sensitive requirements for accessibility and service excellence are met without compromise.
