The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) plans to extend its existing warehouse service contract with the Dubai Ports Authority in Dubai, UAE, on a sole source basis. The contract extension will cover the period from October 1, 2006, through September 30, 2007, allowing the contractor to continue providing essential warehouse and logistics services to support the USAID Title II Food Aid Program. This extension is intended to ensure uninterrupted overseas warehouse operations vital for the distribution of food aid in the region. During the extension period, USAID will also work on implementing commercial warehouse services within the Persian Gulf and potentially other locations in the broader region. This notice confirms a sole source extension rather than a solicitation for competitive bids. It signals ongoing commitment to maintaining critical logistics infrastructure while preparing for future procurement opportunities for overseas warehouse services. Questions about the contract can be directed to the designated USAID officials, including the Contracting Officer John A. Abood and Traffic Management Specialist Paul Vicinanzo.
