The Government has awarded contract W912P5-11-C-0014 to the Department of Defense, specifically through the Endist Nashville office, for the continued rehabilitation of the Center Hill Dam foundation near Lancaster, Tennessee. The primary objective of this project is the construction of a concrete seepage barrier wall at the main dam embankment, which will extend from elevation 696 down to approximately elevation 405 msl. This barrier is designed to penetrate both the existing earthen embankment and the underlying limestone bedrock. Due to the high compressive strength of the limestone foundation, which averages 16,000 psi and reaches up to 40,000 psi, the project utilizes a combined construction method featuring hydromill and circular pile elements. Additionally, a concrete encasement wall will be implemented to ensure the protection of the earthen embankment throughout the construction process. The work is categorized under NAICS code 237990.

The Government has a requirement to continue the overall rehabilitation plan for the foundation of Center Hill Dam near Lancaster, Tennessee. The work includes constructing a concrete seepage barrier wall at the adjacent main dam embankment. The barrier wall will extend through the existing earthen embankment into the underlying limestone bedrock. The barrier wall will have a minimum 2-foot thickness and extend from elevation 696 to approximately elevation 405 msl. The barrier will be installed through the existing earthen embankment and underlying limestone foundation. Portions of the limestone foundation exhibits unconfined compressive strengths up to 40,000 psi, with an average of 16,000 psi; therefore, the Government preferred a combined wall constructed of hydromill and circular pile elements. To protect the earthen embankment during construction, a concrete encasement wall was also recommended.
