AI Contract Overview
The U.S. Navy, through the Navsup Flc Sigonella Naples Office, is seeking information on the availability of two Yokahama or equivalent heavy-duty hydro-pneumatic submarine fenders, each with a nominal diameter of 4.5 meters and length of 9 meters. These fenders must be constructed with a high-strength rubber outer skin in black, comply with ISO 17357-1:2014 standards, and be designed to remain fully functional even if punctured, ensuring unsinkability. They are required to absorb extreme kinetic energy generated during submarine berthing while maintaining low reaction force and high stand-off protection to safeguard the vessel’s hull. A minimum two-year manufacturer’s warranty is mandated, and the fenders must be capable of handling the dynamic loads typical in naval operations. This request for information is strictly for market research and planning purposes and does not constitute a solicitation, proposal request, or guarantee of future procurement. All responses are voluntary and become U.S. Government property with no expectation of compensation, feedback, or return. The government will not pay for any costs incurred in preparing submissions, and failure to respond will not affect eligibility for future opportunities. Responses must be submitted by July 8, 2026, and inquiries can be directed to Eric D. Contreras or Kelly McFarlin. The place of performance is Souda Bay, Greece, and the North American Industry Classification System code is 326299.
