Yol-16 Vision Zero Shoulder Widening

The California Department of Transportation, District 3, is planning the Yol-16 Vision Zero Shoulder Widening project located in Yolo County. This safety improvement initiative focuses on State Route 16 between Post Miles 21.2 and 21.9 in Woodland, California. The scope of work includes the installation of 4-foot shoulders on both sides of the highway, adjustments to roadway alignment and superelevation, and various drainage improvements. Additional safety enhancements involve the installation of rumble strips, the replacement of existing signs with retroreflective sheeting, and the addition of two new speed limit signs. The project also requires cold planing and overlaying the existing asphalt of the traveled way, eventually tying into existing 8-foot shoulders at the northern project limits.
