Yurok Telecommunications Corporation and the Yurok Tribe of the Yurok Tribal Reservation Fiber Optic Cable Replacement Project

The Yurok Telecommunications Corporation and the Yurok Tribe of the Yurok Tribal Reservation Fiber Optic Cable Replacement Project involves the issuance of a Right of Entry and the granting of an easement by the California Department of Parks and Recreation, North Coast Redwoods District. This agreement allows for access to Del Norte Coast Redwoods State Park to install fiber optic lines along existing Pacific Power and Electric lines. The primary objective of the project is to establish high-speed broadband service for tribal households, businesses, and institutions. All project activities must adhere to strict state and federal environmental laws and regulations, including the California Environmental Quality Act, the National Environmental Policy Act, the Endangered Species Act, and Section 5024 of the Public Resources Code. The project is categorized as exempt under Class 1, Section 15301, as it consists of minor alterations with negligible expansion of use.
