The Bureau of Reclamation, Hoover Dam, Boulder City, Nevada, intends to award on a sole source basis a purchase order to ABB Inc, 4350 Semple Ave, St Louis, MO 63120, for engineering analysis, design, and relocation of surge arresters to the high voltage bushing A3 and A4 transformers at Hoover Dam, Nevada. ABB Inc. is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEF) of the A3 and A4 transformers. This OEM possesses all design calculations, drawings, and institutional experience necessary to design and install the mounting brackets to the transformer's tank. Presently the surge arresters are mounted at A3 and A4 transmission lines on the Arizona powerhouse roof. With the construction of the Hoover Dam by-pass bridge, it is necessary to relocate A3 and A4 transmission lines. Therefore, it is necessary to relocate the surge arresters to the high voltage bushings of the transformers. This procurement will be awarded using Simplified Acquisition procedures.
