Project work consists of The work consists of maintenance dredging of the Oregon Inlet channel east of the Bonner Bridge in the vicinity of the Bodie Island spit. The maintenance dredging will require removal and disposal of shoaled material that has accumulated in the channel since it was last dredged. The dredging shall be performed by hydraulic cutterhead suction dredge. Dredging depth is 14 feet plus 2 feet of allowable overdepth. The estimated quantity of material to be dredged, including allowable overdepth, is approximately 450,000 to 600,000 cubic yards. Disposal of dredged material will be on the beach at Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge. Pipe laying and other preparatory work on the beach cannot occur prior to 1 August 2013. Disposal of dredged material on the beach cannot begin until 15 August 2013 and must be completed by 31 December 2013.
