Full Description

The proposed contract action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotitate with only one, or a limited number of, sources under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation 6.302. The anticipated award date will be 20 September 2004. The source for this project it SNL, Soil Nail Launcher, Inc., 549 South Broadway, Grand Junction, CO 81503. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. This project will not be solicited electronically. However, all interested offerors may contact PJ Vilhauer at the address and phone number below for further information. All offers received will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Award will be made to other than the intended source if the offeror can demonstrate the ability to repair the existing Hilfiker wall failure, patch spots where material is being lost, provide drainage and to add approximately three feet of width to the road prism. The work shall be performed with either launched soil nails or equivalent. Work will also include adding steel mesh, plates and shotcrete to the wall structure following the placement of soil nails, adding mesh and applying shotcrete to two other areas where the perimeter erosion is destabilizing the wall. Work is to be completed by November 15, 2004.
