Full Description

The Social Security Administration, Region II, requires a contractor to replace heavy duty fire exit doors at the Addabbo Federal Building, located at 155-10 Jamaica Avenue, Queens, New York. The current doors were installed in the late 1980s. There are two types of doors and frames to be replaced - single doors and frames and pair doors and frames, UL Listed 3-hrs fire rated. This requirement calls for replacing three of each type of door unit. A summary of the characteristics of the door units are as follows: a) Commercial grade 16-ga, stainless steel doors with vertical steel reinforcement. b) Stainless steel, 14-ga, welded frame with oversized throat. c) X-heavy duty, wrought steel, 5 x 5 ball bearing hinges (NRP) d) High quality UL Listed US32D finish, - Yale 1530 (f) series mortise-exit devise (crossbar type) with night latch trim (cyl & pull for re-entry (active leaf); and 1520 (f) concealed vertical rod exit device (cross bar type) exit only (inactive door). e) Sprayed aluminum finish, surface mounted, LCN or equal approved 4041 series over head door closer on all doors f) Head & jamb gaskets (fire & smoke seal). g) Threshold The estimated price of this requirement is between $25,000 and $100,000.
