Z--Resurface Boardwalk Trail Replace Rails BADL

Presolicitation Notice for Badlands Boardwalk Small Construction Project. The National Park Service, MWR NEKOTA Major Acquisition Buying Office (MABO) intends to issue a solicitation for replacement of boardwalks and railing in scenic area at Badlands National Park, Interior, South Dakota. A Simplified Acquisition Process will be used to solicit and award this contract. The project will consist of removing and constructing a new boardwalk surface with composite plastic lumber that has a traction imprint on its surface, removal and construction of sideboards (kickers), and removal and construction of a new handrail at the overlook viewing area. All boardwalk construction will be located at the Big Badlands Overlook parking area located about 1/8 mile from the North East entrance of the park The boardwalk is approximately 470 feet long and 72 inches wide. Replacement of round steel piping railing to be powder coated at the trail overlook area will also be replaced. It is expected that work will be scheduled and completed in the September/October timeframe. The actual start date may be sooner depending on completion of a successful solicitation process. This project is set-aside for HUBZone certified small businesses. The NAICS Code 237990 with a size standard of $36.5 million. The magnitude of this project is between $100,000 and $250,000. The National Park Service, Midwest Region (MWR), NEKOTA MABO, intends to award a firm-fixed price, construction contract in response to this solicitation. The government intends to issue Solicitation Number 140P6318Q0047 and its attachments, on or about May 25, 2018. A formal solicitation will follow this notice.
