The Federal Bureau of Prisons, United States Penitentiary Canaan, intends to award a sole source contract to purchase one 266002-1145-774-PRO Zeiss OS HFA3 Model 840 with GPA, head tracking, gaze tracking, printer table. The Government believes that Zeiss and their small business distributors are the only providers that can satisfy the agency requirements. Therefore, the Government intends to proceed with a sole source award for the required HFA3 Model 840. This procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR 6.302 only one responsible source and no other vendor will satisfy agency requirements. This notice is to request competitive quotes only from authorized Zeiss distributors for new equipment. No solicitation document is available; however, any firm that believes it can meet these requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Officer within seven calendar days from the date of publication of this synopsis. Supporting evidence must be furnished in detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements. Information can be sent to the Contracting Officer at kchurchill@bop.gov. Responses received will be evaluated, however a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses, other than those of the authorized Zeiss distributors are received, the United States Penitentiary will proceed with a sole source award.
