Bureau of Land Management (BLM) desires to lease real property in Ely, NV

The Department of the Interior, specifically the Bureau of Land Management, is seeking to secure real property in Ely, Nevada, to support its operational needs. The original requirements specify a need for 18,691 square feet of office space, 19,406 square feet of warehouse space, and 195,000 square feet of wareyard space, all of which must be contiguous and located on a ground floor with adequate visitor and employee parking. While the initial solicitation outlined a three-year term, current actions involve a Justification for Other than Full and Open Competition to extend the existing lease at 702 North Industrial Way for an additional five years. This lease extension for 33,128 usable square feet of office and warehouse space is intended to prevent any interruption in government operations while the General Services Administration Public Buildings Service conducts a competitive procurement process for a long-term solution. The extension is justified by a lack of available alternative properties in the local market. The procurement is managed under NAICS code 533110 and will utilize a government standard lease document for the final transaction.

The Department of the Interior, specifically the National Operations Center for the Bureau of Land Management, sought to secure a real property lease within the city limits of Taos, New Mexico. The initial requirements specified a need for 10,600 usable square feet of office space, 4,200 usable square feet of warehouse space, and 20,000 square feet of wareyard space, all located on a contiguous ground floor with adequate visitor and employee parking. The procurement was structured for a three-year full term with a one-year firm term, utilizing a government standard lease document. Under solicitation L99PL00036a, the government evaluated proposals based on economic advantage, including potential relocation expenses such as tenant improvements and furniture installation. Subsequent documentation indicates a Justification for Other than Full and Open Competition to extend the lease for the Taos field office, covering 17,035 rentable square feet of office and 20,000 square feet of warehouse space. This extension was pursued to provide necessary time for the development of long-term requirements and GSA procurement after market research and public advertisements failed to yield other viable sources.
