Erik J. Rodriguez

Erik J. Rodriguez serves as a Contract Specialist within the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), part of the Department of Defense, where he plays a pivotal role in executing complex acquisitions to advance the agency’s mission of delivering timely geospatial intelligence. He manages the full lifecycle of procurement actions, from requirements validation and solicitation development to contract award and administration, with a focus on technology-driven solutions that enhance data collection, analysis, and dissemination. His portfolio primarily supports modernization initiatives in geospatial infrastructure, ensuring compliance with federal acquisition regulations and defense-specific cybersecurity standards. Rodriguez maintains a consistent working relationship with ECS FEDERAL, LLC, a trusted contractor delivering mission-critical geospatial systems and analytical platforms. His procurement patterns reflect a preference for established, high-capacity vendors with proven expertise in defense-grade IT environments, fostering long-term partnerships built on technical reliability and performance accountability. While he engages with a limited number of primary contractors, his process emphasizes rigorous evaluation of technical proposals and past performance to ensure mission readiness. His acquisition activity shows no use of socioeconomic set-asides, with 100% of awards issued under full and open competition. This reflects a strategic alignment with NGA’s operational imperatives, prioritizing speed, scale, and technical capability over socioeconomic preferences in this domain. His approach underscores a mission-first procurement philosophy, where performance and interoperability take precedence over programmatic diversity goals. Rodriguez specializes in NAICS 541512 (Computer Systems Design Services), with significant activity in custom programming (541511) and other computer-related services (541519). He procures advanced geospatial software platforms, cloud-enabled data analytics tools, and integrated geospatial intelligence systems that support real-time decision-making for defense and humanitarian operations. His technical expertise lies at the intersection of geospatial information systems, enterprise IT architecture, and secure data infrastructure.
