J--Spring Creek Powerplant Generator Unit 1 Exciter Repair

The Department of the Interior, through the Mp-Regional Office in Sacramento, California, issued solicitation 140R2020Q0124 for the repair of the Generator Unit 1 exciter drawer at the Spring Creek Powerplant. This requirement falls under NAICS code 335311 and was managed by point of contact James J. Gantar. Due to the obsolete nature of the equipment and proprietary design rights, the agency determined that Basler Electric is the sole vendor capable of performing the necessary repairs. This single source justification was made under FAR 13.106-1 to meet a critical completion deadline of December 1, 2020, ensuring the operational readiness of the powerplant generator.

S--NCAO Stony Gorge Unleaded Fuel

This sole source justification, solicitation number 140R2020Q0105, authorizes the procurement of 87-octane unleaded gasoline for the Bureau of Reclamation's Stony Gorge Recreation Office. Managed by the Department of the Interior's Mp-Regional Office in Sacramento, California, the contract identifies Gandy-Staley Oil Co., Inc. as the only reasonably available source for this fuel. This determination is based on the remote location of the ranger station, where proximity is essential to ensure operational efficiency and maintain safety standards. The agreement covers a five-year period of performance beginning August 1, 2020, and ending July 31, 2025. Classified under NAICS code 324110, the procurement process was streamlined through a single source determination to address the specific geographic constraints of the Stony Gorge site. James J. Gantar serves as the primary point of contact for this action.
