Jaime Valentin

Jaime Valentin serves as a Forestry Technician with the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest, where he supports the U.S. Forest Service’s mission to sustain healthy, resilient forest ecosystems across Georgia. In this technical role, Valentin is instrumental in planning and overseeing field-level operations including silvicultural treatments, invasive species control, habitat restoration, and wildfire risk mitigation. His procurement activities center on acquiring specialized services and equipment critical to ecological management, ensuring that contracting aligns with operational needs on public lands. He typically handles acquisitions related to forestry equipment maintenance, vegetation management, and field support services, working closely with field crews and resource specialists to define technical requirements and evaluate contractor performance. While specific contractor relationships are not publicly enumerated, Valentin collaborates with a network of vendors experienced in ecological restoration, prescribed fire implementation, and forest infrastructure support. His working relationships emphasize technical competency and adherence to USDA Forest Service environmental standards, favoring contractors with demonstrated expertise in sustainable forestry practices and compliance with National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) requirements. He engages regularly with local and regional service providers capable of mobilizing quickly in remote, ecologically sensitive areas. Valentin’s procurement patterns reflect a 100% commitment to small business set-asides under FAR 19.5, demonstrating a strong institutional alignment with USDA’s socioeconomic goals. All acquisitions are structured to maximize participation by small businesses, including those certified as 8(a), HUBZone, or women-owned, ensuring equitable access to federal forestry contracts. This approach reinforces the agency’s mission to build local economic resilience while advancing ecological stewardship. His primary procurement focus is on NAICS 722320 (Caterers), which supports field operations through contracted food services for seasonal crews engaged in extended field assignments. This specialization underscores the logistical demands of remote forestry work, where reliable, on-site meal services are essential for workforce safety and productivity. Valentin’s expertise lies at the intersection of ecological operations and operational logistics, ensuring that procurement directly enables mission-critical field activities.
