Nancy A Costello

Controlled Substances Transportation

The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) plans to award a sole source bridge contract to AMTEX SECURITY, INC., operating as AMTEX GLOBAL SERVICES, based in Corpus Christi, Texas, to continue providing Controlled Substances Transportation services. This contract will support the DEA's Houston, El Paso, and Phoenix Divisions and is intended to be awarded on a fixed-price basis with a six-month period of performance. The sole source award is justified under federal regulations allowing non-competitive negotiation when only one responsible source can meet the government’s requirements. The goal of this short-term contract is to maintain essential transportation services while the DEA prepares for a competitive follow-on contract. The contract falls under the NAICS code 484230 for specialized long-distance freight trucking, with a small business size standard threshold of $27.5 million. Although this notice is not a solicitation or request for proposals, interested parties are invited to submit capability statements, which the Contracting Officer may use to determine whether to open future competition. Key contacts for this contract include Nancy Costello as Contract Support Specialist and Kevin Dupuis as Contracting Officer, both within the Department of Justice. The place of performance is primarily Houston, Texas, and full contract details, including a justification for other than full and open competition, will be made available after award.
