Sgt Ethan Braun

SSgt Ethan Braun serves as a contracting professional within the Director of Contracting office under the Department of the Navy, supporting the acquisition of mission-critical defense-enabling services and specialized equipment essential to operational readiness. He manages procurements aligned with modernizing communications infrastructure, sustaining maritime and expeditionary capabilities, and ensuring logistical support for deployed forces. His portfolio primarily includes contracts for secure computing systems, command-and-control hardware, audiovisual systems, and leased specialized machinery, often requiring technical expertise in defense-grade specifications and rapid deployment logistics. Braun operates within a framework emphasizing compliance with FAR regulations and strategic alignment with Navy modernization priorities. While specific contractor names are not available, Braun’s procurement patterns reflect engagement with a diverse vendor base, including firms capable of delivering secure, ruggedized equipment and maintenance services under tight operational timelines. His working relationships span both large primes with defense credentials and qualified small businesses capable of niche technical support, particularly in repair, leasing, and specialized service delivery. He consistently prioritizes vendors with proven experience in military-grade environments and supply chain resilience. Braun demonstrates a strong commitment to socioeconomic contracting, with over 45% of his awards directed toward small business set-asides. Service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses receive the largest share at 30.8%, followed by HUBZone and total small business set-asides at 7.7% each. His approach reflects deliberate efforts to expand opportunities for underserved veteran-owned and geographically targeted firms while maintaining competitive integrity. His primary NAICS focus areas include construction and mining machinery leasing, electronic equipment repair and maintenance, musical instrument manufacturing, and miscellaneous instructional services—each reflecting unconventional but mission-relevant needs such as audio systems for training, specialized equipment rentals for field operations, and precision maintenance for command systems. This unique blend underscores his expertise in identifying non-traditional procurement solutions to meet expeditionary and logistical demands.
