Keep pursuits moving when a proposal begins by automatically updating the phase, assigning a teammate, or notifying your team.

Run a workflow when a proposal starts ๐Ÿ“

Hello everyone! ๐Ÿ‘‹ We've added the Proposal started trigger to AI Workflows. Now your team can respond automatically whenever a new proposal begins, whether someone starts it from a pursuit or a workflow creates it for you.

What's New

The Proposal started trigger runs once for each new proposal and gives your workflow the context it needs to keep the pursuit moving. You can update the pursuit, assign a teammate, or notify your team without relying on someone to remember each follow-up step.

How It Works

Start the workflow at the right moment

  • Go to Automation โ†’ Workflows, click New Workflow, and choose Start from scratch
  • Select Proposal started from the available triggers
  • The trigger runs when someone clicks Generate Proposal for a pursuit
  • It also runs when a workflow's Start Proposal step creates a new proposal
  • Opening a proposal that already exists does not start another run

Use the proposal context

  • Each run includes the pursuit and its tags, contract details, proposal title, and the person who started it
  • Add steps such as Change Phase, Assign Member, Slack Message, or Send Email
  • Use the workflow to move the pursuit into the right phase, give the next action to an owner, or let the team know the response is underway

Test before going live

  • Under Sample pursuit for testing, choose a pursuit that is safe to change
  • Click Run test to run the steps for real and confirm the result
  • When everything looks right, switch the workflow from Draft to Live

Why It Matters

Starting a proposal is a meaningful moment in a pursuit. It often means the team needs a new owner, a phase change, or a quick handoff to keep the response on schedule. This trigger helps those next steps happen consistently, so the pursuit reflects the work already underway and no one has to manage the transition from memory.

Get Started

Open Automation โ†’ Workflows, create a workflow from scratch, and choose Proposal started. Pick a safe sample pursuit before testing, then switch the workflow to Live when the steps look right.
