LCAT (Labor Category)
What is LCAT (Labor Category)?
A labor category, often abbreviated LCAT, describes a class of labor used in a contract or pricing structure. It may specify duties, education, experience, certifications, and other qualifications. A company job title does not automatically establish that a person meets the contractual category.
How to use it
Map proposed people to the actual category definitions. Verify qualifications and any permitted substitutions. Keep the staffing narrative, resumes, hours, and pricing model consistent. Distinguish an employee wage from a contractual hourly rate that includes other elements.
Example
A proposed project manager has a familiar internal title but lacks a required qualification in the solicitation's category. The team resolves the staffing or qualification issue before assigning that person to the priced category.
