The Pbs R9 Amd Sat San Francisco Support Section, operating under the General Services Administration's Public Buildings Service, is tasked with the comprehensive lifecycle management, maintenance, and modernization of federal real estate assets across Northern California. Its core mission focuses on ensuring the operational readiness and structural integrity of federal buildings, with strategic priorities centered on facility reconfiguration, critical infrastructure upgrades, and the preservation of government workspaces. Key focus areas include the installation of advanced telecommunications cabling, HVAC system replacements, and the execution of interior and exterior building renovations to support tenant agencies such as the US Attorney and US Trustees.
Procurement patterns are heavily weighted toward facility services and construction management. The agency frequently solicits specialized trades for electrical wiring, fiber optic cabling, and general commercial building construction. There is a consistent requirement for professional services including architectural design and environmental consulting, alongside routine facility maintenance such as painting, roofing, and remediation services.
The agency primarily targets vendors within the commercial and institutional building construction and electrical contracting NAICS categories. There is a strong preference for small business participation, with significant utilization of 8(a) and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) set-asides to meet diversity and inclusion goals.
This organizational unit functions as a regional support section within the Public Buildings Service, managing a diverse portfolio of federal properties in San Francisco, San Jose, and Fresno. Its operational scope encompasses the full spectrum of facility management, from high-level architectural planning to tactical security system installations and general building upkeep.
