MELCHER LOGGING CO INC

Melcher Logging Co Inc specializes in forestry support services, delivering precision forest management operations including timber harvesting, site preparation, and equipment-based silvicultural activities. Their technical expertise centers on heavy machinery deployment for forwarder operations, forest road maintenance, and ecological restoration tasks under federal land management protocols. The contractor demonstrates deep proficiency in executing complex, terrain-sensitive operations using specialized forestry equipment, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and sustainable yield standards. Their ability to mobilize and operate forwarders and other forestry-specific machinery in remote, rugged environments sets them apart as a reliable operator for sensitive public land projects. The company maintains a consistent, long-standing relationship with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, primarily supporting the Forest Service through on-the-ground forestry support activities. Their work involves direct field execution of timber sale obligations, fuel reduction initiatives, and post-harvest site rehabilitation, often in coordination with federal land use plans. This sustained engagement reflects a trusted operational partnership rooted in reliability, regulatory adherence, and mission alignment with USDA’s stewardship objectives. Melcher Logging Co Inc’s primary industry focus is in NAICS 115310—Support Activities for Forestry—where they provide critical field services that enable sustainable timber production and forest health management. Their niche lies in mechanized forest operations, particularly those requiring specialized equipment like forwarders for efficient log transport in ecologically constrained areas. This positions them as a key contractor for agencies prioritizing low-impact, high-efficiency forestry practices. As an 8H-certified small business based in Sweet Home, Oregon, Melcher Logging Co Inc operates with deep regional knowledge of Pacific Northwest forest ecosystems. The company leverages its local presence and equipment fleet to deliver responsive, scalable forestry services across federal lands in the Western U.S., with no additional government certifications on record. Their business model is grounded in hands-on field execution, technical equipment proficiency, and consistent compliance with federal environmental and safety standards.
