10 -- 12 Gauge Shotguns

The Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) intends to award a purchase order to the Remington Arms Company Inc. for 300 Remington model 870 P, 12 gauge, 3" magnum capable shotgun, with a synthetic pistol grip stock and fore end. The stock will have a 13" length of pull and a Remington R-3 recoil pad. A back bored, 14" barrel with a modified choke, Wilson Combat/Scatter Gun Technology ghost ring rear sights with a tritium front sight insert. A law enforcement trigger group, one-shot magazine extension and a non-reflective parkerized finish. A rear sling swivel on stock and a side-sling mount on the one-shot extension.The Government intends to negotiate solely with the Remington Arms Company Inc pursuant to 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) as cited in FAR 6.302-1, "Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements." The ICE agents/officers are authorized by policy to carry Remington 870P 12 gauge shotguns in the execution of their duties. Therefore, Remington is the only responsible source that can immediately satisfy the Government's requirement and has the qualifications to justify the exception to full and open competition under 41 U.S.C. 253 (c) (1).
