The Air Armament Center at Eglin Air Force Base is organizing the fifth annual Air Armament Summit scheduled for March 11-13, 2003, to evaluate and plan long-term air armament strategies through 2025. While attendance at the Summit is restricted, industry involvement is being encouraged through participation in strategy planning panels that will begin their work with a kickoff meeting on September 4-5, 2002, also at Eglin AFB. These panels will focus on key areas such as the global environment, threat and military strategies, digital modeling and simulation, science and technology, and the industrial base. Participants are expected to be U.S. companies engaged in research, development, testing, manufacturing, or sustainment of air armament systems and must hold a secret-level security clearance. The strategy panels will consist of senior industry experts and military personnel from the Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps, and Army, working collaboratively to develop the material to be presented at the Summit. Industry participation is voluntary, limited to two representatives per company per panel, and coordinated by the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA). This announcement serves solely for planning purposes and does not guarantee any government contracting opportunity. Companies interested in participating must submit detailed information about their representatives, including security clearances, by August 19, 2002, to designated NDIA contacts. Communication is strictly through specified points of contact, and no direct contracting or obligations are implied by participation.
