AI Contract Overview
The contract involves the procurement of 40 units of a microwave component identified by NSN 7H-1285-011874486 with a specific technical data package (TDP VER 005) under solicitation number N0010426RQA82. Delivery terms are FOB origin, and the manufacture or repair of this part mandates specialized test and inspection facilities to ensure ultra-precision quality essential for its function and system integrity. These specialized procedures are necessary because quality substantiation and inspection cannot be reliably replicated without access to precise test capabilities and documented processes. The contract allows consideration of valid Approved/Qualified Manufacturers Codes (A/RMCs) 3, 4, or 5, and all interested firms are required to include their CAGE codes in solicitation requests. This procurement will be conducted as a sole source acquisition under FAR 6.302-1, with the government inviting responsible sources to express interest or provide proposals within 45 days of the synopsis publication date, extended to 30 days if awarded under an existing Basic Ordering Agreement. The government’s decision on competition is discretionary and will be informed by responses to this notice. Market research determined that commercial item acquisition policies under FAR Part 12 will not apply; however, commercial item capabilities can be submitted within 15 days of the notice. The contract is subject to relevant trade agreements, including the Buy American Act and World Trade Organization Government Procurement Agreement, as specified in applicable DFARS clauses. The Department of Defense office managing the solicitation is located in Mechanicsburg, PA, with Amy Reynolds as the point of contact. Documentation and standards to support this procurement are accessible through the DOD Single Stock Point and the ASSIST online platform.
