The Department of Defense, through NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support in Philadelphia, plans to procure a single unit of a retainer seal (NSN 1R-1680-LLF02N687-P8, part number 162A1529-2) specifically for the P-8 aircraft. This solicitation is to be conducted on a sole source basis with The Boeing Company, identified as the Original Equipment Manufacturer and the only known supplier capable of providing this spare part. The government does not possess the rights to the necessary data to acquire this item from any other source, hence limiting procurement to this supplier. The acquisition will be handled under FAR Part 15 procedures, excluding commercial item acquisition policies under FAR Part 12. The contract is expected to last one year and will include compliance with UID requirements and Buy American clauses. Interested parties are invited to submit capability statements or proposals within 45 days of the notice, although this is not a competitive solicitation. The government retains the right to consider proposals for assessing potential competitive procurement options. The solicitation will be electronically released approximately on May 19, 2026, with responses due by June 19, 2026, and an award anticipated by August 20, 2026. Requests for source approval from firms not currently authorized to manufacture this part will not delay the procurement process. Communication regarding interest or qualifications should be directed to the contracting officer, Deja Thompson-Mitchell, via the provided email address. The procurement will adhere to relevant federal regulations and not be subject to a small business set-aside.
