16--TUBE, DRAIN

The Department of Defense’s Navsup Weapon Systems Support office in Philadelphia plans to issue a sole source solicitation to McMaster-Carr Supply Co for one unit of a specific aircraft part, identified as a drain tube for the P-8 aircraft (NSN 1R-1680-LLF02M322-P8, REF NR 9627T18). This procurement is based on the unique status of McMaster-Carr as the Original Equipment Manufacturer and sole known source authorized to provide the required spare part, with no rights or data available to allow procurement from any other suppliers. The government will follow the procedures outlined under FAR Part 15 for this acquisition, applying Buy American Act clauses, UID marking requirements, and will not treat this as a commercial item acquisition under FAR Part 12. The contract is anticipated to last for one year, with the solicitation expected to be issued around May 21, 2026, and responses due by June 21, 2026; award decisions are projected for August 21, 2026. While this is not a request for competitive proposals, the government invites all responsible sources to submit capability statements within 15 days of notice publication and will consider all proposals received within 45 days to evaluate the possibility of competition. Any firms not currently approved to produce the material must submit a Source Approval Request, but the procurement schedule will not be delayed for its approval.
