The Naval Air Systems Command plans to modify and upgrade approximately 23 units of the ALE-50(V) Integrated Multi-Platform Launch Controllers (IMPLC) under contract N00019-99-D-1605 with Raytheon Systems. This upgrade supports the operational requirements of the U.S. Air Force B-1B aircraft. Since the Government does not own the proprietary data package required to conduct a competitive procurement, Raytheon Systems, as the original designer, developer, and manufacturer of the ALE-50(V) IMPLC, remains the sole source capable of executing this effort within the necessary timeframe. Raytheon’s facility is located in Goleta, California. This procurement action aims to ensure the availability and enhancement of critical equipment supporting B-1B operations and reflects a sole-source acquisition based on Raytheon’s unique expertise and assets. The contract modification facilitates the continuation of maintenance and modernization of the IMPLC systems to meet mission requirements effectively. The synopsis provides pertinent information regarding the contract but indicates it is for informational purposes only.
