The Naval Sea Systems Command plans to issue a sole source modification to the existing contract with Raytheon Company, Integrated Defense Systems (IDS), for the supply of two sets of Mission Systems Equipment (MSE) for the DDG 1000 program, specifically for hulls 1000 and 1001. This contract covers the delivery of a Dual Band Radar, as well as engineering and logistics support to sustain the DDG 1000’s advanced combat and mission systems. Raytheon IDS is uniquely qualified for this work as the original designer and integrator of the MSE, possessing exclusive technical knowledge, data, and resources required to meet the Navy’s schedule and operational needs. The MSE package includes a wide array of systems essential to the ship's combat capabilities, such as the Dual Band Radar, Multi-function Towed Array Suite, Towed Torpedo Countermeasure Suite, Close-in Gun System, and several shared subsystems like cooling and power systems, electronic surveillance, navigation, and command and control components. Additionally, software and the Total Ship Computing Environment (TSCE) are included to ensure full integration and functionality. The contract award will proceed under a statutory sole source justification, emphasizing that only Raytheon IDS can adequately fulfill the Navy's requirements. Interested parties seeking subcontracting opportunities are directed to reach out to Raytheon directly. Information regarding the synopsis and updates will be available through both the Federal Business Opportunities page and the Navy Electronic Commerce Online portal.
